Brand “X” is a spinoff from the Suraci Project, which explores the parameters of “freestyle” flight.  This style of flying demands a sloper that is full house capable (less the independent “flaps” on true full house planes) or what has become known as “4-Axis” flying.


This version is an attempt to design a plane that is lighter and more agile than the Suraci.  While the Suraci at 36 ounces, is more than suitable for “freestyle” flying, it requires slightly heavier wind conditions than does Brand “X.”

One of the significant changes is in the area of  fuse construction.  Pictured to the left is a layout of gear.  The 3/16” hard balsa is sandwiched between two layers of EPP.  This allows for a thinner yet stronger fuse.  The balsa also serves as a template for marking both EPP sides.
